My Biography

Living in the Mid Atlantic of the United States my Habanos keep is rather limited and I intend to smoke all my cigars at some point. Since my new world keep is substantial in comparison, I save the cubans for special occasions or when I just really need that superior, unrivaled twang of quality tobacco.
I have a smoking lounge at home which gets used numerous times daily. I enjoy reading fiction and imbibing bourbon as time allows.

What was the first cigar you ever smoked?

Sadly, my very first cigar was an over the counter gas station commodity like a Philly Blunt.
My first memorable cigar experience was with a Casa Magna Colorado paired with a single malt Scotch that entrapped me from there on.
My first cuban cigar was a Partagas Aristocrat.

Which is your desert-island cigar?

I really can't pin this one down. Just when you think you have one, you get introduced to (or reminded of) a new possible timeless smoke you would want on that island.

What is the worst cigar you’ve ever smoked?

That very first one from the gas station. Made me sick. The upside is I've never had a worse one since.

What is your greatest cigar-related memory?

Enjoying cubans with my Father and 2 younger brothers while on the beach on vacation in Curacao.

What is your favourite cigar brand?

Ramon Allones for cubans.
Arturo Fuente for non cubans.

What is your favourite cigar accessory?

My industrial tabletop cutter.

What is your favourite cigar shop?

Tobacco Leaf in Jessup, MD. Great selection and they have tons of events with new world brands.

What is your favourite lounge?

Locally, I love Shelly's Backroom in Washington DC.
The Fox cigar lounge in Arizona is my favorite away from home.

What is your favourite method of ignition?

Single flame jet lighter

What is your favourite cut?

For most sizes a straight cut is my go to method. For large ring gauges such as 54 and above I prefer a V cut.
